“Having worked in exercise rehabilitation and studied sports science, I wanted to explore the art and science of manual therapy and osteopathy has fortunately turned out to be a great choice! I enjoy the wide range of patients that we see and it is a privilege to work with such a friendly cohesive team of therapists and administrative staff, who are all striving to provide the highest quality of care.
My role is to explore with patients their goals and to offer the opportunity of working with them to see what osteopathy can do, not just for their aches and pains, but to increase their overall vitality. It is my responsibility to explain what is going on with their body and why (diagnosis) and to suggest what can be reasonably expected from engaging in osteopathic treatment and exercise rehabilitation (prognosis).
I have experience in the use of nutritional (orthomolecular) medicine and naturopathic methods for helping people optimise their health and recovery from injury and pain. The evidence-based and scientific nutritional strategies can be of great value for people wishing to reduce inflammation, maximise healing and give the muscles, bones and joints the best chance of a swift recovery.
Utilising my knowledge as an osteopath and my experience from exercise rehabilitation, this has enabled me to take over the exciting role of Lead Functional Rehabilitation Clinician at the clinic. Using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) to inform clinical decision making I am able to design individually-tailored exercises to enable people to get to their ideal level of movement and activity”
