Intervertebral Differential Dynamics (IDD) Therapy is a safe and gentle spinal decompression treatment designed to fix your pain at the source. It effectively utilises what looks like a big doctor’s bed, using computer-controlled technology to accurately target the specific spinal segments in either your back or neck that are causing your pain.
It’s a very simple principle. Using differently-angled tilts and applied pressures on the IDD bed, it works to stretch your spine and neck, gently drawing apart the spinal segments and releasing pressure on your discs and trapped nerves.
Reducing the pressure on a prolapsed or slipped discs
Retracting bulging discs and relaxing muscle spasms that cause you pain
Alleviating trapped nerves and reducing irritation
Taking the strain off the rest of your back and neck
Improving the healing of your discs by increasing blood flow and nutrients to the affected discs
Improving the long-term mobility of your spine and neck
…so you can get back to living the active lifestyle you crave.

At 36 years old, Julia was suffering from crippling sciatic leg pain. She came to us because nothing else was working, and she was told she needed urgent surgery. Naturally she was terrified, so came to us for a second opinion.
We identified a large disc bulge in her lower back, and started her on a course of IDD Therapy to decompress the discs.
After six weeks of IDD Therapy, combined with rehabilitative exercise, her crippling leg pain was gone completely. The prolapse in her discs had all but disappeared, and she was back to enjoying the active, pain-free life she remembered.
And, years later, she still is.
While every patient story is unique, Julia’s results aren’t. Hear directly from some more of our happy patients whose lives our IDD Therapy has transformed…

You will require a course of treatment which will vary depending on your condition. The full treatment course will be explained during your IDD Therapy Initial Assessment.
Each IDD treatment lasts for approximately one hour. Your session will begin with 15 minutes of heat therapy, using a TherMedic belt, to warm the tissues and get blood flow into the injured area. You’ll then progress to your IDD Therapy on the specialist IDD machine, which lasts for 25 minutes. This is followed by 15 minutes of cold therapy to reduce the possibility of any inflammation.
The number of IDD Therapy sessions you need all depends on your level of pain and injury. As a rough figure, a full course to treat neck pain is around 10 sessions, and a full course to treat back pain is around 20 sessions.
Our aim is to help you live a life free of back and neck pain, so we’ll recommend the optimal number of treatment sessions to achieve this. Speak to our IDD Therapy specialists to get a better idea of what this looks like for your treatment.
All chronic pain conditions are different. Some patients start seeing relief from pain symptoms in just a few sessions, but for most, you’ll typically start to see an improvement in your condition in a number of weeks.
No, it doesn’t hurt. IDD Therapy is a safe, gentle procedure, and our patients feel relaxed during treatment. In fact, many of our patients have fallen asleep while undergoing their treatment.
Some patients may experience a temporary soreness after their treatment session—this is much like post-exercise, and is just a sign that your muscles have been working in a new way. We finish each treatment session with cold therapy to help reduce discomfort.
