It may sound a bit ‘cheesy’ but I can honestly say that after my treatments at Sussex Back Pain Clinic my quality of life has most definitely changed for the better. My only regret is that I didn’t go sooner!!

Osteopathy
Professional & Caring Osteopathy treatment for patients in Brighton and Hove
You may be suffering from niggling back pain, struggling with chronic back pain or neck pain, which makes your life miserable or have acute low back pain or sciatica which makes it difficult to do all but the very basic of tasks. Even if you only get occasional aches and pains, you may be worried that they could become more serious.
We are here to help you with the very best osteopathy treatments available in Brighton and Hove.
If you are looking for an Osteopath in Brighton or Hove, why choose us?
We are experienced enough to understand the effect that pain can have on your life. Our goal is to get you out of pain and keep you that way. Our osteopaths at the Sussex Back Pain Clinic, based in the city of Brighton and Hove, have helped many people just like you. Established for over 30 years by Osteopath Steve Morris, we are one of the largest Osteopathy clinics in the city of Brighton & Hove, East Sussex.
Unrivalled Care
We are not a group of individuals but a team of osteopaths all working closely together. We focus on creating a calm, serene environment whilst at the same time delivering a proactive, unique service. Over 16,000 patients have consulted us over the last 30 years and 90% of all new patients come to us recommended by our existing patients or other healthcare professionals.
Our team of male and female registered osteopaths provide expert diagnosis and care – not only to treat symptoms but to get to the real cause of your problem and to help you to maintain a healthy spine for the rest of your life.
Is Osteopathy safe and effective?
Osteopathy is a statutory regulated profession, which means that you are offered the same protection as with seeing a doctor or a dentist. It is an offence to practise as an Osteopath unless you are registered with the General Osteopathic Council, whose criteria are very stringent including education to a degree level, ongoing continual professional development and full indemnity insurance. All Osteopaths at the Sussex Back Pain Clinic are registered.
Osteopathy treatment is very effective with studies showing that 80% of people improve after 3 to 4 treatments*.
The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), which sets the national clinical guidelines for care and management of adults, has recommended osteopathic treatment as a primary treatment option for non-specific back pain. It is also extraordinarily safe, with a risk of serious complications from treatment so low as to be virtually immeasurable (1 in 36,000 or 0.000027% chance).
How quickly will I get better?
The average treatment length is between 4 and 6 sessions but this will depend on your condition and how long you have had your symptoms. It will also depend on your goals – wanting to run a marathon as opposed to being able to garden without getting back ache will require different treatment regimes – but we are focused on helping you achieve your goals whatever they are.
Once we have achieved your goals we actively encourage you to maintain your improvements by checking that you keep up with changing lifestyle, postural improvements and exercises to prevent recurrence of your problem.
Working together for best results
We take a patient centered approach to your condition, finding out what your goals are in terms of posture, work, hobbies and sports and how well your body is working, whether your muscles have tightened, your joints have become stiff, over-strained or worn or whether the nerves are being irritated. Then, using various treatment techniques, exercises and advice we get you working better and also eliminate or manage any risk factors that may be influencing your problem.
Your recovery depends on a good working partnership between you and your Osteopath as most conditions will require some lifestyle changes but this can often be as simple as just moving a little more. We ensure that you receive the very best Osteopathic treatment and are given the most up to date advice and information so that you can be confident that you are doing all the right things to help yourself and fully support your healing.
Osteopathy treatment tailored for you
We believe that your osteopathic treatment should be tailored to your individual needs and should never be ‘one size fits all’ as the factors influencing your condition may be very different to someone else’s. We are totally committed to getting you better and keeping you better by using the best evidence based practice that we can. Your osteopath will always listen to you and you will be properly examined before your condition is fully explained. We believe there is no such thing as a silly question!
Your osteopath will then create an individual treatment plan tailored just for you to help you get back to enjoying life to the full.
