After trying various therapists to try to alleviate my constant back pain, ( GP, osteopath, chiropractics etc) I was sceptical that this treatment would be successful. However, Marc got to work on the source of the problem immediately & with great expertise used his skills to reduce, then cure the pain. Thank you.

I had been suffering with severe sciaticia pain for many months and I had tried various different treatments - nothing was working. I saw the IDD treatment on Facebook I was sceptical but after some research I made an enquiry. I am now 3 months post treatment and I am completly pain free - I can't thank Mark, Holly, Mariaanne and the other team members enough. Their care was 2nd to none, it was easy, efficient and caring. I've got my life back and I can be a mum again to my little boy - thank you

I contacted the Sussex Back Pain Clinic last year as a bit of a last resort as I had been suffering from chronic back and leg pain since 2020 and had tried multiple treatments over the last 5 years - Osteopathy, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture - but nothing had helped. I had got to a point where I was unable to do any real physical activity without feeling intense pain or discomfort. I then read about IDD Therapy and thought it had to be worth investigating and so got in touch with the clinic to find out more. My initial consultation with Steve was very thorough. I had an MRI to identify the problem so that Steve could determine whether IDD Therapy would be the right way forward for me. Once I started the IDD Therapy, the sessions were quick and pain free. It was quite intense with 20 sessions over 6 weeks, but it was absolutely fine. I had intermittent sessions with Steve to see how it was all going and the rehabilitation sessions with Holly throughout were very helpful. I have now reached the end of my IDD journey and I can honestly say that my pain levels are greatly reduced and I am now able to get back to exercising and sleeping better. I am continuing with the exercises that the clinic have given me and I can finally feel some strength returning. Thank you to all of the staff at Sussex Back Pain Clinic for your help and support.

I have recently completed my treatment plan with Marc, which included a course of IDD therapy. Immediately after the IDD sessions, I was not convinced the treatment had worked for me, but Marc and Holly reassured me and encouraged me to be patient and continue with my exercises. Three months on, I have just had my final review and was delighted to report that I am now completely pain free. After living with pain for two years and at times having to stay in bed because of it, this has been such a huge relief. The ladies who carried out the IDD sessions were extremely friendly. I got to know them well and even enjoyed a laugh while being stretched, which made the whole process much easier. Thank you, Mariam and Jenny. Marc was always available at the end of the phone whenever I had a flare up and took the time to explain what was happening, which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend this treatment, but would also remind anyone considering it to allow the full healing time, as patience really does pay off.

Marc is highly professional, kind and certainly knows how to get results. I had severe lower back pain following radiotherapy which impacted on every aspect of my life. I felt written off by the NHS and increasingly hopeless. Marc’s manipulation and targeted exercises have made a huge difference for which I am extremely grateful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Marc and this wonderful Clinic.

In my late 70's I thought my back and nerve pain which was painful and causing me to slow down was just due to old age. After an initial consultation it was recommended I should try IDD treatment and also follow exercises specific for my condition which I followed diligently! Thanks to Steve and his team I can now compete in the games I played before and enjoy walking long distances much more comfortably than previously.

My partner suffered a really horrendous back injury and unsurprisingly the NHS offered us no help or support. We bit the bullet and booked my partner in for IDD therapy. The difference that this clinic has made is unbelievable. All the staff are so polite and I can safely say my partner may have never walked again had we not gotten in touch with the clinic. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs help with their back. Really amazing people and we can’t thank them enough.

I can’t praise Sussex back pain clinic enough. For the past 5-6 years I have spent a small fortune on chiropractors, osteopaths, massages, had all sorts of scans and finally offered a procedure from the nhs to mask the pain with injections.. 2 months with Steve and his amazing team and I have got my life back. I’m now able to walk and move without pain and it’s all down to this amazing friendly special team. If you feel you’ve exhausted all options and nothing seems to work for you please come and see Steve. You won’t regret it.

I had treatment IDD last September from Steve and the team at Sussex Back Pain Clinic. After nearly 6 years on and off them helping me with a quick fix if sciatica arose I was due a little boy in October and wanted to get pain free for him . I was unable to walk or hardly walk for periods of 2 weeks to 3 months and really wanted help as only just turned 40! This was the best decision I have ever made! I had 30 sessions in the program including in this regular reviews with Steve on my progress. My mobility increased dramatically over the sessions and continued support after with exercises to strengthen further, I have now been in no pain and sciatica free for the past 5-6 months! I can’t thank them enough and I didn’t believe it would work and was on Steve’s expert recommendation. If you’re thinking about this and Steve thinks this could be your best chance before surgery it’s seriously worth considering.

A few months ago I had a very painful shoulder/back. I no longer have a very painful shoulder/back. This is good! Steve and the team are friendly, helpful and approachable but more importantly they're dead good at fixing shoulders and backs. They take time to clearly explain their diagnoses, make recommendations for exercises, follow-up with clear video instructions and generally work very hard to get you back to fitness. Steve has even gone so far as to provide exercises to help me avoid meeting him again! Highly recommended.

New Year 2025 didn’t quite start as I expected. On 27 December I was holding a cup of tea, twisted to put in down, and suddenly I collapsed in agony with an excruciating pain in my lower back that resonated through my left cheek butt, hamstring, calf and foot. I couldn’t move for a few hours whilst trying to calm from the initial trauma. Following this, I struggled to walk, bend, and sleep as the pain continued through the core of my leg alongside a numb left foot. A few days later I saw a doctor and was prescribed Amitriptyline and painkillers to help me sleep and get through the days and nights ahead, whilst awaiting for a referral. I couldn’t wait. After some online research, and speaking with someone who had received treatment from the Sussex Back Pain Clinic, I made an appointment. I met Steve for the first time on 21 January. From the off I felt Steve made me feel at ease and really listened to my complete experience I had suffered. Steve carried out an initial assessment and literally within a week I had received an MRI scan and had a follow-up meeting where Steve walked me through the scan results. The discussion pointed to a disc bulge that was most likely irritating my sciatica nerve leading to the symptoms I was experiencing. We discussed treatment options and I opted for the IDD therapy and rehab programme which began on 4 February. I met Mariam who carried out the majority of my IDD therapy. Mariam was brilliant, professional and helpful, she talked me through how the IDD machine worked, what I was likely to feel whilst undergoing treatment, and always checked-in throughout to make sure I was ok (as well as answering lots of questions!) The programme was intense to start with, requiring discipline from me to attend appointments Monday to Friday for the first 2 weeks, alongside refraining from a number of activities to help with the decompressing of my damaged disc. To be fair, this was probably the hardest part of the programme for me, but worth it, as by day 8 sensation started to return to my left foot and the pain was starting to ease. I had also stopped taking any medication. The following few weeks saw a combination of IDD therapy and rehab appointments. The latter introduced exercises to stretch and relax muscles, again to help with my disc decompression, alongside seeing Steve for midway and final assessments of my progress. As each week passed, the pain retreated from my left leg and subsided from my lower back. By the end of April it had near-gone. It’s now the end of June, I’ve been walking long distances for a while, returned to the gym, and played my first half round of golf recently. Steve, Mariam, and the clinic team are superb, professional, caring, helpful and really listen. As it states on the sign outside the clinic: ‘Get better’ - they truly got me better; ‘Stay better’ - they are definitely helping me to do so; ‘Enjoy life again’ - I am..! Thank you so so much Sussex Back Pain Clinic for mending me.

I initially came to see Steve Morris at the SBPC in 2016 with a slipped disc and awful sciatica. I had been in agony for months and was so happy to find a non invasive treatment option. Steve was brilliant, understanding, knowledgeable and explained everything really well. I had IDD treatment and it worked! Gradually my back began to heal. I was given regular back exercises to do and the clinic team were so helpful and supportive. I am now a patient of Charlottes and she is wonderful at keeping me on track. I have found her to be intuitive, capable, caring and experienced. I recomend SBPC to anyone I can, it’s worth every penny to be pain free.

SIMPLY PUT - HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEAM ESPECIALLY STEVE MORRIS! Back in December 2019 I developed some odd symptoms after a period of simply being overworked - these started as aching wrists unable to support weight, this spread up the arm and to elbows and then shoulder and then neck leaving a constant weak, aching, burning and stinging pain with clicking everywhere and pain that even pain relief did not touch. Sadly there was little to no NHS support and the waiting lists even pre-covid for anything were dire (all of which is not good when you need to stop acute pain becoming chronic) so i went private for lots of scans to rule out suspicions - these included MRI, EMG and Xrays all of which seemed normal. Pills, lotions, basic physio from the MSK team actually made it escalate worse! At which point the NHS also lost interest in helping me so i had to look at private and therapeutic help, I tried some physio, chiro, neuro-modulation therapy all to no avail or very little help. At my worst i could not even get up to go to work on one occasion and on others i would break down to myself not understand why at 28 years old i was feeling so disabled. Reading the website i was pulled to try SBPC out especially given my symptoms mimicked radiculopathy and they have a specialist machine to help with this. Well on my first appointment Steve was able to put my mind at rest that my scans he looked at were normal and the disc bulge was pretty common and not an issue. We began a long path that has taken a year to learn to understand the mechanism of pain as this is basically a chronic pain problem that has been left to escalate on its own. His techniques were to help with mobility and encourage movement as well as mentally thinking through pain to realise its just my system being overactive. I continued treatment through covid with Steve as they remained open. The process had its ups and downs to be expected but 1 year on i cannot believe the transformation. I am back to lifting weights and jogging again which were things i enjoyed and gave up due to the pain. I still take things carefully as i recognise what can trigger me but i now have methods of control in place and this is all thanks to Steve. Everyone else i saw seemed to give up on me or lose interest. Being able to live an active life again has vastly improved my mood and confidence again. I'd say im 90% better than i was before so this can only get better with time and practice of the techniques i have learned. The mental techniques of exposure were so good i even used them in other aspect of my life such as getting over my fear of eyes to have laser eye surgery something which you would have thought would have set my condition off big time. Steve seems to have a real depth of knowledge of pain and helping chronic patients - something which seems less like a physical fix for a physical injury. Thank you to Steve for restoring my life and helping me though this - i don't know where i would be now if I was in the same state from before.

Before I came to Sussex Back Pain Clinic, I had been living with extreme lower back pain for years, and was struggling to do even general everyday activities. The team was incredibly friendly and professional. My practitioner took the time to listen and understand my condition and provided a clear treatment plan that made me feel reassured. After my treatments, my pain significantly reduced, and I’m now able to exercise and enjoy walks again.

For 18 months I had been struggling with horrific pain in my lower back which shot pain down my left leg all the way to my toes. Pins and needles were common and I struggled to sit down for more than 5 minutes. I had no idea what was causing the pain and it was heavily affecting me mentally. I was unable to sleep and go about my daily activities, struggling to have a normal life. I found Sussex Back Pain Clinic on Google, and due to the great reviews, I got in touch. The second I walked through the door I was greeted with a smile and the whole team were super friendly - I felt like I was in safe hands. My first consultation with Steve was very informative and I booked an MRI off the back of it. The scan showed a large herniated disc on my lumbar which was pinching my sciatic nerve and Steve suggested that IDD therapy would be the best suited healing method for me. One on one tailored physio therapy sessions were part of the IDD therapy package deal (which was well and fairly priced) and they really helped regain movement in my lower back, which had seized up due to my siatica. After three months of regular IDD and physio therapy, I was edging closer to normality, where I was able to put on my shoes and socks without any help from my wife! Now six months later, I am very nearly back to normal. I had learned to live with my pain, thinking that it would never go away but now I can run, do exercise and sit down on my favourite sofa and watch a film. Road trips are back on the agenda for 2025 and I wouldn’t be in this position without all the staff at The Sussex Back Pain Clinic. Anyone who is struggling with siatica or any sort of back pain, I strongly recommend that you see these guys. They’ve fixed me. 5* all the way. Thanks Steve and staff! Tristan.

I have been to various physios and osteopaths over the last couple of years (without much success) and did not feel confident in their treatments. A year ago, my back trouble got so bad that I could not walk for more than 100 yards before I had to sit down, and standing in one place for more than a few minutes was painful and just not possible. I first saw a video about IDD that Steve had put on YouTube explaining the treatment and decided to look into it. When I had my first visit to the Sussex Back Clinic and met Steve, he came across as a very knowledgeable person, and for the first time I felt that I had met someone who understood my back problem and could possibly help me. The first step was an MRI, which showed I had a prolapsed L2 disc, and I then decided to sign up for the IDD treatment, which I completed six months ago. Now, well after the treatment, I have seen a great improvement in my back pain and ability. I can now walk for an hour without pain and can stand in one place for quite a long period of time. The whole process has really helped me, and my lifestyle has got back to some sort of normality. There is still a way to go but with the exercises that Steve has given me I am confident that every day my back problems will improve. I would say that my back has improved to about 80%. Although, at age 71, I know it will never be 100%, the Sussex Back Clinic has helped me immensely in improving the problems I was having a year ago. I would definately recommend this treatment, as it has avoided me needing to have surgery.

I have struggled with back pain for over a year. Being a fairly fit and healthy 30 years old, I just could not work out why I had this pain and what to do to make it go away. The NHS route was unfortunately unsuccessful for me, so I came to this clinic, where I have been treated by Duncan and Charlotte. They listened to me, went through the possible causes of my pain, and gave me a clear plan to follow in terms of physio exercises and ostheopathy treatments. Needless to say - it worked! My back pain has improved massively; I have now gone back to exercise as much as I was doing before the pain started, and if I have the occasional flare-up (none happened in a long time, but I don't want to jinx it!) I know how to manage it safely, and without needing any painkillers. I cannot thank Duncan and Charlotte enough for helping me get through this, with their positive attitude, honesty, and professionalism. Besides that, they are genuinely lovely people - as everyone I have met at the clinic - and quite fun to hang out with whilst you are doing exercise/treatment!

Before finding the Sussex Back Pain Clinic, I had been refused medical treatment by private insurance, which I only had because of my wife's work. This was because the microdistoctomy I had 14 years ago with no recurrent symptoms until Spring this year was classed as an 'ongoing issue.' Immobile and in agony, unable to work or wait for treatment on the NHS (which I have tremendous respect for), I paid to see a local consultant privately, who in fairness was very good, but ultimately only told me things I already knew. I also paid for an MRI, which I was begrudgingly given after hobbling in to the hospital on time, instead of 10 minutes early to fill out a form that took 2. After which, I was told the operation would be well in excess of 10 thousand pounds. Not knowing what to do, I found the Sussex Back Pain Clinic online, read the comments and researched IDD. I thought it was worth a try, so I booked my initial consultation with Mark and went with an open mind. Only after taken a comprehensive medical history and giving me an examination did he examine my MRI and suggested IDD would be benificial. The absence of a hard sell and Mark's obvious wealth of experience gave me hope when I had none. It also gave me an opportunity to address the cause rather than merely treating the symptoms of my condition. Having ballooned to 23st, unable to drive, or walk from Hove station, it took me 10 minutes to hobble up the road from the bus stop with my stick, stopping twice along the way to my first appointment. I know everyone's road to recovery is different, so I can only tell you mine. I noticed a slight improvement after 2 or 3 days. This improvemet increased over the course of the IDD sessions, which were painless and undertaken buy empathetic and supportive staff without exception, a stark contrast to the begrudging robots at the local private hospital. By the time I had my last IDD session (see photo), I was able to walk for up to an hour, unsupported and without any medcation. I had expressed a desire to walk from Brighton to Worthing as my fitness goal. I was able to do this shortly after commencing the physio phase of the treatment, long before I had expected. All the time being assessed, monitored and supported by Duncan; even as a red-blooded hetrosexual male, I"d do anything that bloke says. (Please forgive my levity, writing this is bringing everything back and there's currently tears roling down my face). So if you're reading this review and want my advice, get yourself an MRI any way you can (mine was out £475 plus £250 consultancy fee) and see Mark. If you're elegible for IDD and you can afford it, do it. I quickly bought into this process 100% and maybe I'm just lucky, but I am now totally symptom free. Not only that, but I now have the knowledge and techniques to maintain the life changing experience IDD gave me and I know that if things start to go wong, all I need to do is pick up the phone.

Sussex Back Pain Clinic is the best ever, from the warm welcome to the excellent standard of specialised and holistic care. I have an old "weak spot" in my lower back from a rock climbing accident in my early 20s, which "goes" from time to time. I am now in my 50s, so have decades of experience with issues, osteo and physio, and hands down, Marc is superior to anyone I have ever seen - on Harley Street through to sports club set-ups. I went from being unable to bend or sit down to 99% all better again within a short course of treatment - plus doing my home exercises of course, and making the relevant lifestyle changes! It's not just about having treatment done and then it's over, Sussex Back Pain Clinic works with you to help overall, it's team work to see the results, and it works like magic. Thank you so much, you are superstars! 🌟

I'd been struggling with low back pain for over a year and felt like nothing I tried was making any difference. I came to see Duncan, the physiotherapist, and had a block of 6 sessions total which have dramatically reduced my pain and increased my quality of life. Duncan is super knowledgeable and good at explaining the underlying theory behind different exercises and lifestyle changes. He also just has good energy which makes you feel enthusiastic about doing your exercises! I'm now pain free 90% of the time, feel more knowledgeable about how to maintain my spine health, and I'm reintroducing heavier weights at the gym. Would 100% recommend.

An MRI revealed that the 'hamstring strain' in my thigh was the symptom of a herniated vertebra. A spinal steroid injection didn't work, and a consultant surgeon told me that the choice I faced was between pain-management until the condition sorted itself out (I had already been on codeine-based painkillers for 6 months at that time) or surgery. To avoid that choice I followed up a google search result to the Sussex Back Pain Clinic. I didn't have much hope, but I lived quite close by. From my first consultation with Marc it was clear that this was a serious, and seriously proactive clinic. The explanations of my condition and possible therapies were clear and concise - a first, in a world of 'maybe' and 'perhaps'. My IDD therapy began within 10 days. If the machinery might have been intimidating ('No Mr Bond, I expect you to die'), the staff were again clear and explanatory, as well as kind and solicitous. The IDD treatment itself is not painful. You can feel that there is something going on, at a deep level, but there is no pain, and any discomfort is minimal. Even by the end of the first week of treatment, it was clear that the level of pain I experienced from the condition was shooting down. By the end of the second week, my pain level had diminished from 8 to 2. By the end of the third week it was at 1, and by the end of the 4th week, 0.5. By the end of the six-week IDD course, it was at zero. I cannot over-emphasise how effective this course of treatment has been. Duncan's physiotherapy sessions are highly focused and effective. He is infinitely adaptable and highly encouraging. First time in my life I have actually looked forward to physiotherapy sessions, because the benefits here are palpable. Like many others posting here, I cannot praise too highly the work of the Sussex Black Pain Clinic, and every one who works there. Whatever the cause of your condition, you should give it a go. The results, in my own case, have been tremendous.

I was very worried about the pain in my lower back which had started to seriously affect my quality of life. It was an old football injury which had returned worse than ever. I was constantly in significant pain whether sitting, standing or laying down. There was no relief. Rather than go to my GP and then endure the inevitable wait (or worse, get prescribed pills) I did some research and decided to try Sussex Back Pain Clinic. This clinic offers several treatment options and I did not know which one was best for me so I called them to discuss what they thought was most appropriate. They were very helpful over the phone and I initially arranged an appointment to see Steve Morris to get a proper diagnosis from him. I have to say that this appointment was fantastic. Steve was very thorough and explained clearly what he was doing and why, as he examined me to understand my particular problem. By the end of the session he had given me a very clear idea of what my problem was and outlined to me the best course of action to fix it. However, the biggest take away I got from this session was peace of mind. As soon as I understood what the problem was, that the problem was treatable and also how we were going to treat it, the sense of relief was fantastic. Steve knows his subject to an extraordinary degree and is brilliant at helping you understand what you need to know. I left feeling very lucky to have seen him. Steve had recommended that physiotherapy would be the best treatment for my problem so I then started on a series of physio sessions with Duncan. As we went through the sessions together the pain lessened and my mobility returned to the point that I could train again. Duncan is also very thorough and knowledgable & clearly takes your recovery seriously. The exercises he gave me to do were fully explained and very effective. One point to make here is that it is up to you to put the effort into your own recovery. Duncan is great at finding what will work best for you but it is up to you to actually do the exercises each day at home. Even though it can be tiresome and requires some self discipline I did the exercises because I really wanted to get better and I am now sitting here typing this completely pain free. In short my experience at this clinic has been first class from start to finish. I went from being in constant and significant pain, at times struggling to even walk properly, to being completely pain free, fully mobile and able to do physical training several times a week. I put all that down to the help and treatment I received from Steve & Duncan at this clinic. I recommend this clinic to anyone that has back problems. Thank you Steve & Duncan

I recently visited Duncan at the Sussex Back Clinic for a shoulder injury that also caused numbness and reduced strength in my thumb. Duncan conducted a thorough and systematic assessment, carefully explaining each step which helped me understand the mechanics of my body. He outlined a detailed treatment plan tailored to my needs, which was regularly updated based on the progress of my recovery. I diligently followed his recommendations, and I'm thrilled to report that I have fully recovered, regaining complete strength in both my shoulder and thumb. He is now my go to physio for any injuries . Thanks Duncan for all your help

I came to SBPC for treatment to aid recovery from the agony of a trapped nerve and for advice on a "maintenance programme" to minimise the risk of a recurrence. Duncan provided an excellent service that ticked both these boxes. His friendly manner, support and encouragement made treatment sessions a pleasure and helped with commitment to the daily exercise programme that delivered speedy results (as did the videos provided as part of the service). All round excellence!!

Professional service with thoroughly experienced and properly qualified practitioner who sets out to identify root causes of a problem and find the long term solution and implement a strategy to avoid reoccurrence, such that after a relatively short time no further visits are necessary. (This is very different to just alleviating the symptoms which means one has to frequently return over many years for repeated 'treatment'.)

SBPC was recommended by a friend. Initially I saw Steve the osteopath for an assessment and then I was referred to Duncan for physio. I went from struggling to walk without pain, to running for 30 minutes 3x a week with no pain. The receptionists were always welcoming and Duncan and Steve are worth every penny to get your physical health back on track. I could ask questions in between sessions and have stretches and strategies to maintain my back health. Many thanks to everybody at SBPC.

I have previously visited many different chiropractors and physios to try and resolve my back issues which unfortunately made no improvement and all diagnosed different issues, which all required back surgery! I was very reluctant to have back surgery and a friend recommended Steve Morris at Sussex back pain clinic and after a very thorough examination he identified the problem and set some exercises and some IDD sessions. I went from being unable to walk more that 50m to being completely pain free after only a few sessions! I really can't recommend Steve Morris highly enough, he was extremely knowledgeable , patient and honest about expectations, I am now fully recovered and back to work as a heating engineer which before seeing Steve felt impossible. Thanks for all you help.

My experience with Steve and the team at the Sussex back pain clinic has been incredible throughout. I had damaged a disk in my neck and was struggling with pain, tingling and numbness in my right arm and hand. I was also finding it increasingly difficult to settle into a comfortable place to sleep. I had received a number of different types of treatment, including acupuncture, steroid injections and physiotherapy which had helped to a certain extent but the symptoms were increasing again. A good friend of mine recommended the IDD therapy as her husband had been one of the early patients at the clinic and had seen remarkable results. The initial consultation with Steve felt like the first time that anyone had actually explained what was happening in my body and why. I was initially nervous about the IDD therapy itself, wondering how it would feel, whether it would hurt and if it would help. I shouldn't have worried as the team make sure that you are comfortable and fully cared for throughout. The therapy was so relaxing for me that I almost fell asleep on a number of occasions. Introducing the supporting exercises helped even more. Will and Duncan were knowledgeable, patient and supportive and I learned so much from them about the things I was doing to exacerbate my symptoms and how a few simple movements could help me to increase the mobility in my spine. Since speaking to the team, I now use an orthopaedic chair in my home office and a sit/stand desk to increase my mobility. I am able to sit, stand and sleep comfortably with a greatly reduced set of symptoms in my arm and hand. The whole experience with the team at the clinic and the therapy itself has been remarkable and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling with symptoms. Thank you to all the team.

I had so much hip pain that I thought it needed replacing. Even before my MRI scan was taken, Steve correctly diagnosed what was wrong, and the ensuing course of IDD, with an exercise programme added in, sorted out the pain and disability within 2 months. The staff were so supportive and professional, I felt completely sure of a positive outcome. I was relaxed during therapy, and felt equipped to do the exercises at home to a high standard. I looked forward to every visit, because even the receptionists knew me and greeted me with a smile, asking how things were going. I have already recommended at least 6 people to visit your website, as they can see the difference in me. My friends at church and choir are amazed how quickly I have been able to discard my walking stick, and at the changes in my mobility. 10 weeks after the first phone call to the clinic, I have been able to stand without pain for a dress rehearsal and concert on the same day, and take a 2 hour rehearsal for our carol concert. I can't thank you enough, the staff are all highly trained, professional and friendly in attitude, what more could a patient require?

On a recent weekend away in Brighton my back seized up quite dramatically and left me almost unable to walk. After ringing around various practices in the area, I came across the Sussex Back Pain Clinic who, fortunately, offered me a same day treatment with Duncan Rock. As a manual worker and also being involved in sporting activity, I have experience of various body workers who I’ve used over the years. I immediately sensed Duncan’s expertise and knowledge and noted his reassuring “bedside” manner which added to my confidence in his ability. Also I was impressed by the degree of empathy and conscientiousness Duncan showed in working with me for the best outcome. I’m not saying this should make any difference but, as I am not local, Duncan’s motivation wasn’t likely to engender repeat business, it was a genuine concern for my best interests. In short my impression is that Duncan is both very personable and very able and I would highly recommend him. As a postscript I was able to enjoy the remainder of my stay in Brighton with my back much improved from the treatment.

I had a prolapsed disc and went to Sussex Back Pain Clinic as my neurologist said my only options were a spinal injection or surgery. Steve looked at my MRI and suggested there was an good chance they could help using their IDD treatment. I was beginning to think the treatment wouldn't work for me but after the 12th (of the 20) IDD treatment my back pain literally disappeared! 2 months later I am still completely pain free. Life changing!! In February this year I started my IDD Therapy. I had been suffering with lower back pain and change in sensation of my feet and lower leg (sciatica) caused by an L4/5 herniated disc, gradually getting worse for about a year to the point where it was unbearable and I was definitely not myself; I couldn't walk for more than 10 minutes, I couldn't sit still, I couldn't bend down without excruciating pain, I couldn't turn over in bed or sleep. I had visited various osteopaths and physiotherapists before considering IDD Therapy, all of whom were really lovely and helpful but nothing had sorted out the problem. I live in Devon and there is no clinic close to me, which complicated things. Should I have started treatment 6 months earlier when I first read about it? Probably, but I did not feel I had given everything else a chance. After reading the extensive information on Sussex Back Pain Clinic website and finally making that first enquiry I wanted to give myself the best possible chance at successful treatment.(I had definitely been sceptical before contacting the clinic.) I'm not going to lie, the cramps in my hamstrings, glutes, piriformus all continued during the first 15 treatments even taking the full dose of paracetamol and ibuprofen on a daily basis, I still felt like a screw driver was stuck in my sacrum and twisted if I moved the wrong way! Initial sessions went as informed with very little change but after the 16th treatment there was a significant turning point & I woke up the morning after treatment feeling far more comfortable with reduced pain and that improvement continued throughout the rest of the treatment period. Do not give up part way through treatment, it is a process! I am now 10 weeks post treatment and I have been pain-free for that period of time. I can walk for over an hour at a really good pace, I've just flown to Canada for a two week holiday (8 hour flight each way), something I couldn't even imagine 6 months ago! I have done the exercise regime EVERY day even whilst on holiday. I have signed up for 3 more monthly treatments and 3 more physical therapy sessions with Will in order to give my body the best long-term chance of maintaining the improvement whilst continuing to heal. When I say life-changing I really do mean it. It is the specialist knowledge and wrap around service that has made this possible; everyone one at the clinic is professional but also so lovely. You have to trust the process and persevere; exercises are now a daily regime and will remain so... What an amazing team you have assembled and lead at the Sussex Back Pain Clinic Steve! Sincere thanks! Rosey James

I have been extremely impressed with the Sussex Back Pain Clinic. All the staff are friendly yet professional and will go above and beyond to help. Steve and Will have been fantastic! I have felt listened to and supported through each stage of my recovery. Whilst in hospital with a herniated disc, Steve took the time to discuss non-surgery options with me. He knowledgeably and patiently answered my exhausting list of questions which resulted in me cancelling my surgery - the best decision I could have made! Three months on and I have to pinch myself at the progress I have made. From hardly being able to move I am back to light exercise and a phased return to my physically demanding job... on zero painkillers! There is still work to be done but I am so grateful to the team for helping me get my life back.

I consider myself so fortunate to have found out about IDD treatment at Sussex Back Pain Clinic and Steve and his fantastic team gave me hope and belief that I would recover fully from agonising sciatica and prolapsed disc. I was barely able to walk, drive or do many normal life tasks and it seemed the only option was invasive surgery that I was terrified of having. After the first few IDD treatments I already felt better and the continuing programme of treatment and physiotherapy restored me to normal mobility within a few months. It is not just the physical repair but also the psychological repair which Steve helped me with and I continue to have follow ups with him on a periodic basis as much as anything for reassurance that all is well and I am doing everything I can to ensure a healthy and active future. I can't recommend the treatment and service from Sussex Back Pain Clinic enough. They gave me my life back.

I have just finished my 6 week course of IDD treatment with Sussex Back Pain Clinic and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone currently considering it! Prior to commencing my treatment, I was on 25 tablets per day to manage the pain, could barely walk (even with crutches) and could no sit down at all! sleep was almost non-existent due to the pain and not being able to get comfortable whilst laying down. I have honestly never felt pain like it and never wish to again. Roll on six weeks – Steve and his team are amazing, absolutely first class! I have been very well looked after, all staff are extremely knowledgeable and really care about the service they provide. More importantly, I am now off all my medication and pretty much pain free! I can walk, sit and sleep has been the best it has been for a long while! The treatment has literally been life changing for me, I am even back on my exercise bike. Of course, I still need to look after myself and continue with the home based exercises, I have also booked in for a 3 month maintenance session just to ensure I keep on top of things. If you are like me and initially a little sceptical, please don’t be! Just get yourself booked in and let the team take care of you. The change in my pain and mobility in a relatively short period of time is nothing short of a miracle! Thank you to everyone at Sussex Back Pain Clinic.

Where do I start! Steve & the the team basically changed my whole life. For some context I am now 36 and have had a slipped disk/subsequent spine issues since I was 21. After years and years of Osteopathy, frankly useless NHS physio appointments and basically being told my pain was 'imagined/remembered' I was seriously at my wits end. After the birth of my daughter in 2019 I was in some serious agony with sciatica and finally took the plunge for the IDD therapy. I had read about it and knew it had some great results so I was hopeful I could be helped, I wasn't sure I'd ever be cured but even a 50% pain reduction would have been good. The first thing that I loved was that Steve took the time to actually explain to me what the heck was going on with my back. Nobody before had ever really done that. I felt so much better just understanding it! It was hard work for me, as someone who loves to exercise, to have to really go back to basics and stop everything. But let's be real here, you cant undertake a treatment like this and do no other work and expect it to be a miracle cure. Its holistic, you need to look at your diet, invest in supplements (if advised), and do the rehab!! Around 3 years on from my treatment I am still so pleased I did it, it has absolutely changed my life.

I attended Sussex Back Pain Clinic on the advice of my Osteopath. My symptoms had increased from mild lower back ache to increased discomfort spreading to Sciatica pain down my thigh and calf. Walking or standing for more than five minutes was unbearable and medication was being sought at an increasing rate. Armed with my MRI scan, Sussex Back Pain Clinic diagnosed a Prolapsed Disc and IDD Therapy was recommended after a thorough consultation. Initial apprehensions were dispelled as soon as I began my first IDD session. I was made to feel at ease and the whole experience was positive and remained so throughout my entire treatment. Interspersed were rehabilitation sessions that were tailored to my abilities and requirements. These were adjusted and reviewed throughout, being taught patiently and clearly without judgement. The transformation that not only myself, but others have noticed in me has been truly amazing. I can honestly say that I never thought in just three months I would feel so much better. I no longer take medication and have a better understanding of what I need to do to ensure I remain in good health. I found the staff at Sussex Back pain Clinic very professional and approachable. A big thank you to Steve Morris and the team from Sussex Back Pain Clinic in Hove. When I met Steve I had a severe sciatica and bulging disk I was unable to walk unaided. I needed 2 walking sticks to be able to attend my assessment. On the assessment Steve assured me that he was able to help me with my condition and it will take approximately 20 IDD treatments and some physio therapy( which I had with Will) On my 8th appointment I was able to walk in unaided without any walking sticks and no pain whatsoever. Although I finished my initial course of treatment I’ve opted for some extra sessions for the next few weeks at 2 week intervals just for peace of mind. I was in so much pain and pretty scared after being told by the chiropractor that she couldn’t help me and I would need to look into injections or surgery (though she said to avoid this if I could due to possible risks). In desperation I trawled the internet to try to find a risk free treatment that would actually work. Having read about IDD therapy I had already made up my mind and after a very informed and thorough examination by Steve I couldn’t wait to start the treatment. I couldn’t take strong painkillers due to an allergic reaction which probably affected the speed of my recovery, however after the first couple of weeks the pain had already eased to a manageable level. My back started to complain a little mid treatment and Steve explained that this happens with some people, the treatment was slowed down and I was given extra sessions. I cannot speak more highly of Steve and the team, I felt safe and that they all really cared that I got better. I have always been very active and had been so depressed at the thought of being in pain long term, struggling to do my job and the things I enjoy, but now I am pain free, and back to being active again with the movement in my back still continuing to improve with exercise. I have confidently recommended the Sussex Pain Clinic to others in my situation

I hobbled into The Sussex Back Pain clinic in the summer of 2022 desperate, hopeless and on the brink of giving up on life. Those who live with the constant pain of sciatica and round robin of life robbing medication will know just how dark and desperate these times are. I had just had my second microdiscectomy which not only failed, but made my condition worse. Steve and his team of dedicated professionals slowly but surely put me back together using the fantastic IDD treatment and physio program. I have so many reasons to rave about Steve Morris and the team at Sussex Back Pain Clinic. Not only did they take me from sobbing on the kitchen floor in pain to walking crutch free and back to work, but they also treated me with such gentle care, kindness and generosity. Steve gave so much of his time to explain my MRI scan results, and the way the body works (e.g. what I could actually do to help myself alongside the IDD therapy treatment) but also Mariam and Ben that worked the IDD treatments lifted my spirits during a particularly dark and painful time - both were exceptionally friendly and kind, reassuring me and making me laugh. I felt that when in such a vulnerable position, being in pain and uncertain if I could ever be pain free again, Ben and Mariam were so helpful and supportive and lovely. Finally, the rehab sessions with Will were a lifeline. He tailored the exercises to meet my abilities, never putting me in a program that would increase pain or trigger discomfort. He was so fun and friendly to work with too, I genuinely enjoyed my sessions and came away each time with a plan for keeping mobile and moving forward with healing. The entire team at the clinic really invested in me and didn’t stop working until I was pain free. I was told by NHS consultants and doctors that I would have this problem for life and would have to manage it with strong pain relief and gentle physio. I can report that after a full course of IDD therapy and rehab I am now pain free and off all painkillers, just five months after a large disc protrusion event and one month after completing my treatment. A huge success story and I’m absolutely indebted to The Sussex Back Pain Clinic, I cannot recommend the team or their services highly enough. Go and get pain free!

I have just finished my IDD therapy treatment after suffering for 11+ years with 2 herniated discs in my lower back. I had exhausted all avenues with seeing other medical professions such as chiropractors and Osteopaths. They could only ease my pain to some extent and I honestly felt like the only last resort was to eventually look at getting surgery. For a relatively active person to go from enjoying hobbies and doing normal daily tasks to living a life with restrictions and pain was really deflating. I cannot explain the impact it has had on my life over the years. I had gotten to a point in my life where I thought enough was enough. After researching online, I found the back clinic in Brighton. The first initial consultation with Marc was very thorough and within a few weeks I started the treatment. My god, I cannot explain how relieved I am to say I am finally free of the horrific pain I was in at the start. I now have a very positive and optimistic future ahead of me which I didn't think I'd ever feel again but for anyone thinking of having the treatment, do it! . The IDD team, Amy ( especially the new guys Charlie and Will ) have been exceptional, they really care about you and you build a lovely rapport with everyone, everytime you come for your appointments. Kieran has been fab with his informative rehab sessions and I've found them so helpful with understanding my body. The receptionists have also been friendly and welcoming everytime you set foot through the door. I cannot fault any of the staff there and their efforts are phenomenal. Thanks again to Marc, Charlie, Will and Kieran for your endless support and lovely chats everytime I've been in! Keep doing what you're doing. I can finally say I can start living my life to the fullest once again and look forward to a pain free future. Laura x

I cannot recommend Steve and his team (especially Maria and Richard) highly enough. I went to see Steve in January 2019 in incredible pain from a bulging disc which caused sciatica. I had been off work for 2 months and unable to do anything comfortably, I was also on 9 different drugs which made little difference. I had a zinging pain down my left leg all the time. I had had an anti inflammatory injection which did not work and had booked to have the disc shaved but that is quite an invasive op. I had the 20 IDD sessions and very quickly my pain eased. 6 months later I am pain free, off all the drugs and now just have an ache which I can live with, although Steve is sure that will go also. I have cancelled the op and I have my life back and can do whatever I want to. The way Steve and his team treated me helped enormously, they always knew what to try next to help ease the pain. If you are suffering from pain caused by sciatica go and see them and let them work their magic.

I saw Steve and Richard in the course of my treatment who were both brilliant getting me through a shoulder/upper back injury. Their treatment, experience, holistic approach and knowledge is second to none! I highly recommend ☺
