Sam’s Swedish Canoe Challenge to Support Odyssey

30th May 2019

Everyone was so kind when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. The support was amazing and really helped us get through it. I would now love to give something back myself to help others like me. So, I’m embarking on a personal challenge to raise funds for Odyssey – a charity that helped me so much through my cancer journey.

I would be so grateful to anyone who wishes to support me and make a donation for this wonderful charity.

The Challenge…

From 6th-14th September I will be taking part in a Swedish Canoe Adventure Challenge which takes place in the beautiful wilderness area of the Hårkan river and lakes not far from the Northern town of Östersund. There will be five days of travel in open canoes, and we will be self-sufficient carrying all our supplies for camping, cooking and eating with us. The total distance will be approximately 90km with the first 50km being mainly on lakes, and the last 40km on the river.

I am doing this to raise funds for Odyssey, a wonderful charity, which enhances the quality of life for people with cancer through imaginative programmes of challenging and dramatic activities using the outdoors.

Odyssey made such a massive difference to me when things were really tough and I am so pleased that I can do this to give something back and help them to help more people in my situation (although feeling a little nervous about it now!).

If you would like to support me please donate on my fundraising page. My full story and more about Odyssey are on there too.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will help more people benefit from the work this fantastic charity does. All donations will go to the charity – I am paying for my own costs.

Huge thanks in advance

Best wishes
